I spoil myself once in a while especially if budget permits. I do not own any Burberry makeup before even though there are a lot of good reviews about them. I bought the Burberry Lip Velvet Long Lasting Matte Lip Colour because one, it is a lipstick and two, I want to have an idea if it is really worth the high price tag. I chose the shade Rosewood No. 421 because I know that it is a shade right up my alley, it complements my medium skin tone well, and it is easy to wear for every day.

The packaging alone is very luxurious and that lipstick design is so intricate. I got what I paid for just by looking at it. LOL! Though it hurts to eventually destroy that beauty, thankfully, my photo will be able to preserve it. Hehe. The cap is magnetic like the Nars Audacious lipsticks. It is lightweight but a bit heavier than most lipsticks that I own.
Rosewood No. 421 is a mix of Pink and Brown shades. It is a warm shade that flatters medium to dark skin tones the most. It reminds me a bit of MAC Whirl but this one is brighter and leans more on the reddish side.
It glides so easily on the lips and it really feels like velvet. It is lightweight and very comfortable when worn. It does not feel sticky when I press my lips but I feel that there’s something there. It is very similar to Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet but I like Burberry more! This shade does not emphasize lip lines and it has a bit of sheen. It does not feel bone dry like some matte lipsticks. It has a faint perfume scent but it does not linger. This lipstick can survive a light meal but retouch is a must if I eat oily food. It will last for hours if I do not eat nor drink.
LOVE! I wish that it is more affordable but I’m really not complaining! It is worth the price tag for me but I don’t really see myself buying more shades. It is great to try a luxury lipstick sometimes. It is like a dab of happiness on a gloomy day.
