Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today’s post is all about the new Preview x Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Matte Lippies! It had been two weeks since I got them and I am probably one of the first few people who bought from Zalora before it got out of stock (but now available again!). Matte lipsticks are my favorites, and since this set is made by Happy Skin, I know that I will like them.

You might have seen a lot of reviews already but I hope that you’ll still enjoy this review. I’ve read mixed reviews about these lippies, and they seem not to suit every Filipina. I want to share how they look on me and share with you my thoughts.

Let’s begin!

The packaging is really too cute. The two lippies rest snugly inside the paper box. I love that I can recycle the box and put some little accessories inside. It is too bulky to keep the lippies inside so I just placed both inside my lipstick drawer together with my millions of Happy Skin lippies. (Haha, Exag!)

The swatches look a bit warmer but they definitely look lighter on the lips. I feel like these two shades look distinct on different people depending on how pigmented the lips are and if you’re acidic, like me. Some lipsticks I wear tend to oxidize thus making them pinker after they set.

I think that these two lippies apply very similar to the Revlon Matte Lip Balms but better! They are much pigmented, and they don’t tug the lips! They will definitely transfer when you wipe them out, but longer wearing than other creamy matte lip products. They do not have a strong scent or any scent at all, which is always a plus!

Too Cool is a classic nude. It kind of erases my natural lip color so I would probably have to wear this over a darker shade of lipstick or lip liner, or blended with Hot Stuff. I think it looks pinker on my lips because I am acidic. It can emphasize the lip lines if not blended well or if applied with several layers.

This shade won’t go well with minimal makeup unless I want to look anemic! Lol! I won’t give up on this lipstick yet because I don’t really have a nude shade like this on my collection yet. I will wear this lippie with a heavy eyeshadow some other time and I will show you how it fares.

Hot Stuff (oh my G!) is a Bordeaux red shade. It is not for the faint of heart. Haha! This shade brightens the complexion, and makes my face instantly put together. I love dark shades like this because it suits my medium complexion really well. It is not for everyday wear for some, but it can for me! *wink* I am kinda used to people staring at my coloring book face. I don’t really care, because I am happy! Right? Right! 😀

This set though is not for everyone and they are from the opposite sides of the color spectrum. I would love to see more shades of this creamy matte formula of Happy Skin. I love their original formula so much and I think they are worth every penny. Their lippies are great quality, and are comparable to higher end brands.

I would love to read your thoughts! 🙂
