It’s a busy week for me because of my mom’s birthday celebration and we’ll have a family outing at the end of this week. I am happy because I get to spend more time with my family. I usually just spend my week working, and all the monotony. I need a break, or do we? 🙂

I am feeling anxious not to post anything on this blog this week so here I am typing away! Today’s post is about the prize I won months ago from Bec, of MyGorgeousPinkCheeks and Pond’s! I won Pond’s BB Creams, and this beautiful and luxurious Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in 42 L’Eclatante! Even if I am already running a blog, I still love joining different giveaways from my favorite beauty bloggers, and most days, I am lucky! Thank you, Universe! I personally didn’t think that I’ll own a Chanel lipstick, so I was super excited when I learned that I won!

Let’s now take a look!

Gah, the packaging is very nice. I guess that’s a third of what you are paying for. Hihi. To open, you have to push the gold logo, then the bullet will push up to show the lipstick. If I haven’t read Victoria’s post about her Chanel lipstick, it would take me hundred years to figure out how to open this. Lol!

L’Eclatante was described as vibrant pink. For me, it looks like it has some coral tones in it. For my medium skin, it looks a bit light but not Nicki Minaj-y light on me. I can still pull it off. I usually prefer mauve, deep reds, burgundy and berries because they suit me more. This shade is actually perfect for summer so I need to bust this out more to appreciate it better.

The finish is velvet (obviously!). It glides smoothly on my lips, and it is very lightweight. It doesn’t feel heavy even if I apply several layers. Some people prefer otherwise, though. Sometimes, I also like to feel that I have lipstick on especially when I can’t easily retouch.

Since the shade is light on me, it kind of clings to dry patches, and it tends to highlight my lip lines. I would suggest to put a lip balm underneath to remedy this.

Each bullet costs Php 1,650 here in the Philippines, and this shade is currently in stock at BeautyMNL.com. You can find Chanel at Rustan’s Department Stores.

Will I purchase more shades? Not anytime soon. I usually prefer matte lipsticks like MAC’s. This one for me is nice to try but not a must-have in my honest opinion.

Do you have a Chanel lipstick? What shade do you own? Share!
