Drugstore Finds: NYX Cosmetics Baked Blush in Chiffon- Review, Photos, Swatch

NYX baked blush in Chiffon

Blush is one of my favorite makeup products, next to lipsticks! I have a lot, more than all my fingers can count! I have them in a variety of shades and finishes. Without a blush or a lipstick, I will look sick or ghostly. Blushes help me to look more alive and healthy.

Today, I will be sharing my thoughts about the NYX Cosmetics Baked Blush. NYX Cosmetics is one of my go to brands for affordable makeup! The first two items that I bought were the NYX Cosmetics Matte Lip Creams from Multiply.com. (R.I.P. Multiply.Com!). From then on, my collection grew. I collected more shades of the matte lip creams, and then, I also bought some lip liners, lipsticks and more blushes.

Fast forward to today, I am glad that NYX Cosmetics is already available in the Philippines. Buying them online is still cheaper though but at least you can swatch and see them in the counters before buying anything, or grab them when on sale. On one of my trips to the NYX counter, the Baked Blush collection caught my eye! The more popular brand of baked blush is Milani, but it is only available online, so I bought one shade from NYX called Chiffon, to try it out. This blush is worth 460 pesos (about $10), but in the U.S. website, it is $7. I still think it is fairly priced considering shipping and taxes here.

What it is:  A baked blusher that can also be used as a bronzer or illuminator.

What it does:  A silky-smooth, lightweight, highly pigmented formula that blends easily and evenly.
Why we love it:  This formula is versatile and can be used wet or dry for light to heavy application of color.
How to use:  Apply to cheekbones or apples of cheeks. Add a light dusting on top of nose, forehead, chin and décolleté when used as a bronzer or illuminator.
• Price: 460 pesos ($10+), ($7 U.S. website), 6.5 grams
• Cruelty-free!

The shade Chiffon is described as iridescent highlight, but for me, it is a stunning peachy pink blush with gold micro shimmers. This blush is finely milled and pigmented but looks super natural on the cheeks when applied lightly.

I never tried it wet until I swatched it in the office, and I was AMAZED!!! Look how pretty the swatch is on the right side of my arm, what more if blended on the cheek. It is like an eyeshadow applied with a wet brush. The wet application made it look more pink than peach. Note though that I layered the swatches on my arm so it looks so striking and bright but one layer gives it a subtler effect.

Applied dry on my cheeks, it looks subtle and not shimmerry unless you look very closely. I am not wearing any bronzers or highlighters on the picture. I think that this blush is very similar to Milani Baked Blushes, and Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes in texture and effect. The longevity of this blush is remarkable too because it only faded a bit even after 10 hours in an air-conditioned room. It might be less than that if used outside in a hot, summer day.

Is it worth it? Yes, if you ask me! If you are looking for a long-lasting, affordable, and great quality blush, try this! It comes in 12 shades from the website, but in the counters, I spotted about 4-5. There are other stunning shades to choose from!

That’s the end of my blush review! My next post is about my latest U.S. haul! (I had my friend buy them from me, of course!) Excited??? 🙂

Hope you are having a great day so far, and see you on my next post! Bye!
