Warm Weather Must-Haves with Maria [CatEyesRedLips.com]

Warm Weather Logo

I am so thankful that I’ve found a passion about blogging, more so “beauty blogging”. I am a late bloomer because I’ve lived a fourth of my life wearing only powder, lip balm or a lipstick. It was until before I got married that I became so interested in it. It’s not really only about finding new makeup that inspires me but meeting new friends who share the same passion. I’ve met a lot of my favorite beauty bloggers and until now I’m still the fan girl like when I started.

Today’s post is extra special because it’s collaboration with Maria, of CatEyesRedLips.com. Her blog had grown so much ever since. What I love most about her are her makeup tutorials. She really has the skills to make each of her looks so beautiful. Don’t forget to follow her blog because you will surely love her!

We decided to do our warm-weather essentials which includes skin care, makeup and clothes since Summer is here, and some parts of the world is transitioning from Spring to Summer too! Let’s begin!

SKIN CARE

It is very important to take care of our skin especially that we are going to be more exposed to the sun during our beach trips! Even if it is not summer, we should still take care of our skin from harmful elements that will make it age more, and look ugly. Here are my top choices:

The Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater has been a staple after I cleanse my face. It feels cooling and moisturizing when I spritz about one to two on my face. It is very mild that I do not experience any stings or breakouts after use. This also helps to set makeup, or if you just want to refresh the skin any time of the day.

I apply the The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream before any foundation or BB Cream. It is a light-weight moisturizer that absorbs quickly and does not leave a greasy feel. It keeps my face less oily throughout the day except for my stubborn T-zone, of course. It did not break me out since. I would probably check out the other products from this line!

The Sunkiller Cool Perfect Strong sunscreen is also a great makeup base with SPF of 50+PA+++! When I apply this on my face, it feels cool, and it also absorbs quickly on my face. It also controls oil, and I don’t know how! Lol! I don’t have any other sunscreen favorites except for this. Highly recommend it!

The Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 is one of my favorite lip balms because it moisturizes my lips well, without the greasy texture, and it also smells and feels minty! I have two other variants which I got from a set. This is one of the best lip balms out there! I got this from Nordstrom, but it is also available locally from selected stores.

MAKEUP

BB Creams or CC Creams are best during warm weather months because we don’t want our foundation to slide off our faces when we sweat! The best BB Cream or BB Cushion that I’ve tried so far is the Laneige BB Cushion [Pore Control] SPF50+ PA+++ in #31 Brown Beige. It is a cushion-type pore purifying BB for a fresh-looking and semi-matte complexion all day with 6 multi-benefits of Pore Control + Pore Coverage + Semi-matte Finish + Water Resistant + Soothing Effect + UV Protection. I can’t tell you how great this one is. Perfect for combination to Oily girls like me!

For luminous cheeks, I recommend Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso for a peachy-pink glow or the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Rose for a pink glow. These two blushes/highlighters make the skin look healthy. I should not put too much product because I don’t want to look oily. It is best to just apply them on the highest points of the face or just the sides of the cheeks. I also love the texture of the Clinique Cheek Pops! This blush is super creamy and not powdery at all! Look at the swatch below. It spreads like a cream! 🙂

Of course, we need a bright lip to make our pouts pop! Minimal makeup is the key when it’s hot. I recommend the NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Lodhi if you want a vibrant coral lipstick shade. It actually looks natural and not too bright on me. The formula is creamy and it is long-wearing. For a cheaper alternative, the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Unapologetic is a nice pick. It is a bright pink chubby crayon pencil with a matte finish. If I were to choose a MAC lipstick from my collection, Lady Danger is my pick!

CLOTHES & ACCESSORIES

Hello there! Do you see me? Hehe.

A nice pair of sunglasses is a must for summer! I bought this Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses about two years ago and it is still looking good as new! I am really after the quality of this sunglasses, and how good it looks on! You can buy a cheaper and cuter sunglasses because the point is to protect your eyes from the harmful rays of the sun!

A cute colorful top is also a must during Summer time! I got this for cheap from a surplus shop. I love the butterfly design and the summer-y print designs. It is also cotton so it feels cool on.

I love wearing a cute pair of flip flops especially on the beach! Philippines is a tropical country so it is mostly hot and humid all throughout the year. Everyone and their dogs own a pair of flip flops here because we need it. It is perfect to be worn with shorts or jeans. I love the brands Ipanema and Havaianas because they sell cute and good quality flip flops. That one above is just a cheap flip flops that I got for free. Hehe.

So those are some of my warm weather must-haves! Don’t forget to check Maria’s warm weather must-haves too!
