How I “Winterize” my Nails!

How to do Nails

How to do Nails (2)

Happy New Year everyone! This is my very first post for this year, and I am glad to be back again. I enjoyed having a short break, but I miss blogging here at the same time. Hope you missed me!

Today, I will be showing a tutorial on how I make my nails glam for winter (though we don’t really have winter in our country!) but it feels like it because of the cool weather! I am enjoying itย so much!

Let’s start!

CLIP & SHAPE

Shorter Nails are clean, healthy and gorgeous for winter. I usually keep my nails shorter even if I will wear nail polish on top. Longer nails annoy me especially when I type on my keyboard, and I am very clumsy so I can’t prevent them from chipping or cracking easily.

Cuticles Be Gone

CUTICLES: BE GONE!

Soak your nail beds with Cuticle remover for at least 30 seconds. I keep my cuticle remover in a small bottle like above so it is easier to pour it over my nails. It helps soften the excess skin and cuticles that I will remove later on.

Give Em a Nudge

GIVE ‘EM A NUDGE

Use a cuticle pusher or orange wood stick to gently push your cuticles back. I make sure to do this carefully to prevent my cuticles to be so short. I only push a bit and remove just enough excess skin.

Clean up Time

CLEAN UP TIME

Buff and nip nails and dead cuticles. (Don’t over-trim!). Then, wash your hands and nails thoroughly with soap. I bought this 4-way Buffer Block from Watsons to File, Buff, Smooth and Shine my nails. It is really very effective and easy to use.

Extra Oomph

Nail Hardener

EXTRA OOMPH

Polish your clean, winter-ready nails with two coats of Nail treatment to keep them strong and healthy. I only used a Nail Hardener to keep my nails from chipping easily.

Moisturize Often

MOISTURIZE OFTEN

Use a cuticle serum twice a day to keep your tips hydrated and happy through dry winter months. I find the Burt’s Bees Hand Salve to do the job very well. It keeps my cuticles healthy. I often use hand creams as well when I feel that my hands are dry and rough.

Apply a Pink Nail Polish Base

Apply Glitter Nail Polish

Apply Top Coat

I added a pink base and a glitter nail polish over my clean nails to glamorize my nails even more. I also applied a chip resistant top coat to prolong the wear time.

ALL DONE!

I thought that glitters make it look like winter. I really love how it turned out!

I also want to share someย trending winter colors by Julep Nail Polish below, but they are not available in our local counters yet. You can find more new nail polish shades from Julep here.
