NYX Matte Lipstick in Natural Review

The NYX Matte Lipstick has been around for ages, but it was just this year that I bought my very first two shades. If you’ve been following me here, you should already know that I have hoarded a lot of lip products. (Read my lipstick tag here.) I have a lot of matte lipsticks, but compared to my MAC Retro Matte Lipsticks, I like this a tad bit more because it is not a drying matte, but surprisingly moisturizing, and wears so comfortably on my lips.
NYX Matte Lipsticks are highly pigmented, richly formulated and long-wearing. The formula glides on smoothly and stays put in a matte finish. From Pure Red to Nude, Matte Lipsticks are available in a variety of rich shades.
Ingredients: Bees Wax, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) wax, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla)wax, Ceresin, Microcrystalline Wax, Polyethylene, Octyldodeanol, Polyisobutene, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Oleyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Palmitate, Isostearyl Isostearate, Bis-Digylceryl Polyacyladipade-2, Tocopheryl Acetate, B.H.A, and Fragrance. The first shade that I want to show is you is Natural. This shade stood out to me when I watched itsjudytime‘s swatches on Youtube. Of course, one should always have a go-to MLBB (my lips but better) shade, and Natural is perfect for it!
I am not good with describing colors, but Natural looks like mauve-y pink to me. It is super close to my natural lip color, and it is so wearable! The pigmentation is superb. One swipe gives a good color payoff, but I love to build it up for maximum opaqueness. This lipstick applies smoothly and does not accentuate dryness. I do not really consider it as matte matte, but rather, a creamy matte, if that makes sense! The packaging shows you the shade in the middle of the tube. If not careful, the cap might twist the product up because it is not that tight.
For longevity, it stays put without eating or drinking. It sets after some time, and leaves a staining effect. It does not bleed outside the lips so that’s a plus! If you want a bang for your buck, definitely check this NYX Matte Lipsticks! I am tempted to get more, but not anytime soon! Hehe. I will review the other shade that I bought next time.

Looks great on you! Haven’t tried this particular lipstick from NYX . Is it just me? the lippie looks more of satin finish to me.

Anyway, this one is far from my lip color naman. What’s “naural” to me is whipped caviar. But I find it more drying than the retromattes. Weird.

It does look a little satin on the lips no? This NYX Matte Lipsticks actually goes more of a semi-matte lang eh. An i agree with Rae, this is far from ‘my’ natural. I have Whipped Caviar too and that matches my natural lips. MLBB.

Whipped Caviar looks nice din, might check that out. Yung lips ko kasi pale kaya parang dark yung whipped. I’ll check that out.
I agree, di siya matte na matte like MAC’s pero I still like the formula of this.

I have a few of these and while the shades are pretty, the formula is a downer. They’re super drying. Nakakainis 🙁
