Mother’s Day Gift Ideas 2014

Mother’s Day is coming! It is on Sunday, May 11th. Have you thought of any gifts yet? Here are some things that I pooled to help you out.

Flowers

Some may find it impractical, but I believe it’s the thought that counts. You can take pictures so that it will be remembered forever (?). Haha! Not only will your mom appreciate it, but she can display them at the living room table for aesthetic purposes.

A trip to the Spa

Of course, we ladies (and gents!) love pampering. I enjoy going to the spa with my sisters, mom, and even my husband. Foot spa and back massage are my favorites!

Gadgets

For all mommy techies out there. My mom loves browsing Facebook and Twitter. She even enjoys watching re-runs of the TV dramas. If I have extra money, I will surely buy her this one.

Personal Beauty Set

You can buy her a beauty set that includes soap, perfumes, lotions, hair care, and skin care and makeup products.

My mom takes good care of her body well. She loves to smell and feel fresh always. She loves to put powder, lotion, and perfumes. She doesn’t fuss much about her skin or hair, but she maintains her youthful glow. She is already in her late 50s, but people think she is only in her 40s. Naks!!! (I think I got that “mukhang-bata” (baby-face) genes from her! LOL!)

Bags or Shoes

It doesn’t have to be Louis Vuitton, or Coach. I think SM Parisian bags will be a good bargain (if your mom is not too picky! hehe). If you go around the department store, you will find a lot of cute bags. I think a small shoulder bag that can carry a phone and a wallet will do.

My mom loves to do Zumba everyday, so I can buy her a new pair of sneakers too. A good pair of walking shoes or sandals are also some options.

Scented Candles, Bed Sheets, and Pillows

Moms are very busy everyday, and most of the time, they feel tired and sleepy. It will be great if she will have new sets of pillows, plus a lighted scented candle. It will make her more relaxed and have a very sound sleep.

Cookware

My mom loves to cook so she will be delighted to get a new set of cookware! Aside from making her happy, she will be more interested to cook delicious food! *wink wink*

Shopping Money

Moms always worry about bills etc., so most of the time, they do not have enough money to buy something for themselves. A shopping money will definitely be a good gift. She may use some to pay bills (haha!) but maybe, she can also buy some stuff she likes.

Personalized Greeting Cards

There’s nothing more thoughtful than personalized gifts. If you do not have enough money to buy expensive gifts, or wanted something extra special, make a DIY greeting card. You only need some colorful pens, cardboard or cartolina, scissors, glue, glitters, etc. Make your creative juices work. Hehe.

It is really not about the material things, but the fact that you are giving them a token of your appreciation. We only have one mom. We can’t replace her. We can only love her as long as she is with us.
